Your kiteboarding lesson – what to expect

Brisbane Kite School gives kitesurfing lessons all year round, whenever there is enough wind.
Should the conditions be (or become) unsuitable for your kitesurfing lesson, we will reschedule.

Standard lessons run for two hours and are held in various locations, including Sandgate, Brighton, Redcliffe and Clontarf. You must meet your instructor at the kite shop before your lesson.

Many kitesurfers get a case of the 'pre-summer nerves' before heading out this time of year. Maybe you forgot how to get up on the board, or you're not too sure how to launch. The refresher lesson is for you!We take you out with one of our awesome IKO instructors for an hour - and we'll show you anything you want to know - basic kite launching, self landing, riding on the board or how to do your first jump. You tell us! Check these out here.

Note:

To get up and riding on the kiteboard might take more than one lesson, but we aim to get you up and running as soon as possible. Often students can continue learning in their own time and with their own gear after the initial lesson. We teach you how to be self reliant - not how to rely on an instructor.

Please read our 'Terms and Conditions' before purchasing this product:
• Kiteboarding is extremely weather dependant. Your lesson may need to be postponed if Kitepower feels that conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. However, we cannot refund vouchers for weather conditions OF ANY SORT.
• Don't purchase a lesson unless you are willing to travel to any of the locations above.

Our lessons are hands-on and you will be using proper kitesurfing gear throughout the whole lesson. We believe you'll learn faster with kitesurfing kites in your hands. We don't give theory lessons and we certainly don't sit you down at a table. If we need to draw a picture to demonstrate something, we'll draw it in the sand!

All equipment is provided. You can use your own kite and kiteboard but must use our harness, helmet & vest.

The kites we stock at the kite shop are Cabrinha, Ozone, Slingshot, Core and Airush and you will be learning on the latest gear from these brands. If you have any preferences, please let us know!

We have both male and female instructors, if you would prefer to be taught by either, let us know.

We prefer to teach one-on-one for all lessons, but if you would prefer to learn with a friend contact us first to discuss your options.
